Within firefighting there is an international move towards the ban of PFAS containing AFFF products. It has been shown through empirical testing that:

• F3 is less effective in like-for-like foam systems

• Different F3 manufacturers perform differently in like-for-like systems

• F3 physical properties can be incompatible with certain equipment

• F3 can outperform AFFF when system modifications are made
